JOB SUMMARY:
Managers and Assistant Managers of Good Food Market’s first store in Chestnut Hill Philadelphia have the opportunity
to build and manage the store operations from the ground up and lead the perfect
team to ensure the success of organizational objectives as well as the achievement of profit goals.
All managers and assistant managers share responsibility for customer satisfaction, company morale, brand standards,
profitability, expense control, inventory control, purchasing and merchandising, regulatory compliance
and special projects as assigned.
Managers and Assistant Managers should lead with creativity, passion for the brand as
well as for all our products and services.
An entrepreneurial spirit, strong ethics and a positive attitude are critical to develop and grow our new
concept in grocery sales and services.
Ensure execution of established safety, security, quality, and store operations policies, procedures
and practices.
Set and achieve the highest standards in retail execution.
Work with all store associates to ensure the highest quality and most enjoyable prepared foods are
available and to create an upbeat, pleasant atmosphere for employees, suppliers and customers alike.
Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers, respond to customer complaints and
inquiries, solicit customer feedback and input, develop personal relationships with frequent
customers.
Managerial candidates should have demonstrated 5 or more years of supervisory, managerial or leadership experience overseeing 20 or
more employees in a food-related retail or service industry.
Assistant manager candidates should have demonstrated 3 or more years of supervisory managerial or leadership experience overseeing 8 or more employees in a food-related retail or service industry.
Can effectively communicate with all team members and leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat. Strong knowledge of Deli Station and the ability to
perform all cuts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline preferred, high school diploma or equivalent
required.
Leadership experience in a fast-paced grocery retail or food service environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours.
Must be comfortable bending, stooping and climbing.
Must have mental and physical dexterity.
Must be comfortable with unassisted heavy lifting, the use of box cutters, and climbing ladders.
Work a minimum of four (4) closing or opening shifts per week and one weekend day per week.
